Abstract

Effective communication is communication that is carried out appropriately, in which messages are received and understood accurately in accordance with the sender’s intent. In the context of public organizations, effective communication plays an essential role in strengthening coordination, building trust, and enhancing performance accountability. In practice, communication effectiveness is often hindered by several issues that affect coordination, data control, and performance accountability.
This community service activity aims to provide socialization and in-depth material on effective communication to improve employees’ understanding and capabilities in carrying out their institutional duties and functions. The results of the activity indicate that strengthening two-way symmetrical communication, using simple language, repeating messages, and applying proper time management can improve the effectiveness of internal communication. This community service activity was conducted at the Protocol and Leadership Communication Division of Batu City, a unit with strategic responsibilities in planning, coordinating, and managing regional leadership communication thus, improvements in communication effectiveness directly contribute to the quality of performance
and accountability of its personnel.
